RABAT, thewasesanews.com — Houthi Attacks on Saudi Arabia and civilian infrastructure have drawn fierce international condemnation from King Mohammed VI of Morocco, who declared that the security of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is inseparable from Moroccan national security, warning that any aggression against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia constitutes a direct assault on Morocco itself, according to an official Royal Office statement released on Saturday (26/9/2026).
The firm stance was delivered in official messages addressed directly to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdelaziz Al Saud, following escalating cross-border drone and missile strikes launched by Houthi militias from Yemen.
The Moroccan monarch expressed profound concern over repeated attacks targeting vital economic facilities, civilian infrastructure, and residential areas in Saudi Arabia, noting with gravity that the militia strikes have recklessly targeted the holy sanctuaries of Mecca and Medina.
King Mohammed VI underscored that aggression directed at the holiest sites in Islam offends the religious sentiments of more than 1.8 billion Muslims across the globe, while violating core Islamic tenets that uphold human dignity, tolerance, and the sanctity of life.
“The security and stability of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, like the security of the rest of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, is inseparable from the security of the Kingdom of Morocco, and any aggression against Saudi Arabia is an aggression against Morocco, because We consider support for Our brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as support for right and legitimacy,” affirmed His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
Addressing the broader geopolitical dimensions, the Sovereign placed full accountability for these criminal acts on the Houthi militias and the regional powers that finance, arm, and support them, warning that their destructive agenda directly threatens international shipping lanes vital to global trade.
The Royal Office statement emphasized that persistent Houthi strikes constitute a flagrant breach of international humanitarian law and explicitly violate UN Security Council resolutions, including Resolution 2216 (2015) demanding militia disarmament and Resolution 2722 (2024) mandating an immediate halt to maritime attacks.
Reaffirming historic ties of religious brotherhood and shared strategic destiny, Morocco reiterated its unconditional support for Saudi Arabia and GCC partners in defending their sovereignty, territorial integrity, and holy places against all regional threats. (PERSISMA/Ed)
