FSPPI Strengthens National Leadership, Unites Southeast Asian Activists and Academics for Film Workers
"We firmly believe that the Indonesian film industry will never become a truly advanced industry as long as its workers remain in a vulnerable position. Therefore, FSPPI exists with one conviction: Indonesian cinema must be backed by a strong Film Workers Union. A strong union is not merely an organization, but the foundation for building protection, welfare, professionalism, and dignity for all film workers. That strength can only stem from unity, solidarity, and the courage to collectively fight for workers' rights. I invite all Indonesian film practitioners to dismantle the divisions that have fragmented our strength and join hands in building a movement capable of delivering real change. When film workers unite, we build not only the future of our workforce, but also the future of an Indonesian film industry that is more equitable, professional, dignified, and globally competitive," stated FSPPI General Chairperson, Dr. Rizal Djibran, in Jakarta, Wednesday (August 5, 2026).
